Join us to create a custom patch knife from a three-inch block of 5160 steel. Class begins by drawing out the block to create a twisted handle. Students will continue to draw the blank into the shape of the blade, and finish by grinding and hardening the knife.
This class has a prerequisite. Students need to have completed at least one other class with Bob Alexander at Mueller’s.
Students are exposed to hot steel emitting sparks while hammering. Please wear protective clothing to cover your arms and legs. Closed-toe shoes are required. Safety glasses are provided.
Students aged 14-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian also enrolled in the class.
- No Person under the age of 14 is allowed on the premise during class times.
